
Mattias Andersson was born and brought up in Gothenburg, Sweden.
First studied to become a professional actor at the University College of Acting in Gothenburg.
Since the 90s working as a playwright and a director.
His plays have been performed at venues all over Sweden such as Stockholm City Theatre, the Royal Dramatic Theatre of Stockholm, Göteborg City Theatre, Malmö City Theatre and in countries including Denmark, Germany, Russia, Norway, Finland, Greece, Romania and Serbia. Plays published in a number of books with collections of modern swedish drama.
Since 2020 Artistic Director of Dramaten / The Royal Dramatic Theatre, Stockholm, Sweden.
2006 - 2019 Artistic Director of Backa Teater, Gothenburg, Sweden.
